When a pool has sat green for months, filled with debris, or turned into something closer to a pond, pouring chemicals at it is throwing money into bad water. The honest fix is a full reset: drain it, clean the shell down to the surface, and refill fresh. We do it safely — which in Florida matters more than most owners know. Call (941) 555-0142.
The line between “treatable” and “drain it” comes down to cost and condition. Water black with long-term algae, heavy silt and decomposing debris on the floor, or chemistry destroyed by years without care can take weeks of chemicals and filtering to recover — often costing more than fresh water. A drain and clean is also the moment to see the shell: long-neglected pools usually hide staining or damage that only shows when empty. We’ll tell you honestly which side of the line your pool is on.
We check the water table and open hydrostatic relief before pumping down — skipping that step is how shells crack or float.
Debris and muck get hauled out, then the entire shell is pressure-washed and scrubbed.
While it’s empty we photograph and inspect every surface, so you know exactly what condition the pool is really in.
Then we refill and run a full startup balance so the fresh water starts life right.
If stains warrant it, an acid wash can be added while the shell is already empty.
Cost depends on pool size, how much debris has to come out, and water disposal. Because draining carries real risk, we quote exactly and in writing before starting — free, from photos. If your pool is actually recoverable with treatment for less, we’ll tell you that instead; the drain should be the economical choice, not the reflexive one.
