Finding a crack in your pool is alarming, but the crack itself doesn’t tell you how worried to be — its pattern, location, and behavior do. Hairline checking in plaster is common and cosmetic; a widening crack that leaks is structural business. We assess cracks honestly, test whether they leak, and repair them with methods matched to the cause. Call (941) 555-0142.
Watch the crack’s behavior more than its looks. Cracks that lengthen or widen over months, run through the shell at stress points — corners, steps, around fittings — or pair with water loss deserve prompt attention. Spider-web crazing across plaster is surface-level and mostly cosmetic. Florida’s shifting, water-heavy ground moves shells more than owners expect, and a structural crack under pressure only grows. Mark the ends of a suspect crack with pencil and photograph it monthly — that record is diagnostic gold.
We start with assessment: dye testing to see if the crack leaks, and a look at pattern, location, and the deck around it to judge cause.
Cosmetic crazing gets documented and honestly left alone or addressed during a future resurface.
Leaking cracks get opened, prepared, and repaired with materials built for underwater structural work — including staple systems for cracks that need mechanical restraint, not just filler.
You get the assessment in writing with photos either way, including the “this is fine, don’t spend money on it” verdict when that’s the truth.
Assessment findings drive the price: dye testing and evaluation are modest, injection and seal repairs mid-range, structural staple work the top of the scale — each quoted in writing before we start. Photos of the crack with something for scale get the conversation moving free; onsite assessment is the flat $95 when needed.
Photograph the crack next to a coin and send it over — we’ll tell you how concerned to be. Call (941) 555-0142. Learn more about how we work, what we charge, and who we are on our homepage.
